Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Always a great place to hang.... Friendly service, it is a family owned place.... Kinda like cheers, they always greet you by name if ur a regular. Service is sometime slow cuz only one person is running bar, and service.... But food is good. Always has sports on as well

Manager is rude. Pizza pretty good! A bit spendy. Mostly good quality products. Servers good manager/owner not!

I have given myself a couple days to cool off before writing this review. We moved to the area in June of this year and have been consuming Pioneer Pizza from THE DAY we moved in and about every other week there after. We love the pizza. The service is spotty. They aren't usually quick about checking in, seem spacey when we give our order, or just plain forget our order. The servers have always been very nice though. We aren't tough to please, so we just roll with it. Saturday night though, we had these most awful experience here. And you won't believe who the horrible service was delivered by. Read on.... Knowing how much we love Pioneer Pizza, my sister bought us a gift certificate on her way out to our house on Saturday. That same night, we wanted to use it. I call in the order and we head down to pick it up. The conversation in the stores goes something like this: Employee: (takes certificate) What is this? This isn't signed and this isn't one of our certificates Husband: My sister-in-law just bought it for us today Employee: I don't know what to tell you, this looks fake and forged. We haven't sold certificates that look like this in a COUPLE YEARS and this certificate isn't signed Husband: We come here all the time and we would never do something like that. I am telling you she bought this just a few hours ago, here at this store (which is the ONLY Pioneer Pizza) Employee: For all I know you could have found this in a garbage can and forged it Husband: I don't like your tone or what you are insinuating. Employee: (again) I don't know what to tell you (as he walks away WITH our certificate) After he walked away, another employee says to my husband how sorry she is, sorry from the bottom of her heart, and that he should not have talked to us that way. She offers to give us 50% off the pizza. My husband thanked her, but said if we aren't able to use the certificate, we won't be taking the pizza. At that point, my husband had to step outside as his blood pressure is now through the roof. He tries to keep his cool. I call my sister and thankfully, she is just a few minutes away, so she stops in to show her receipt. Sister: EXCUSE ME, did you check your book that the girl I bought it from recorded my certificate numbers before you accused my brother in law of being a thief? Employee: Yes, I just called the manager and she confirmed that she did sell them to you. The certificate should have been signed. If it had been signed, this wouldn't have been a problem Sister: So rather than check with your employee first, you call a good customer a liar and a thief Employee: I never said that Husband: You said I could have found it in a garbage can and forged it Employee: Well, I'm sorry (AGAIN), I don't know what else to say Husband: What is this? (Spots a gift certificate display) Gift certificates now available and what do you know, the certificates on this picture look EXACTLY like mine Employee: Well, we just started selling those today Husband: .... Sister: Like my brother said, I BOUGHT THESE TODAY Employee: I'm sorry, I don't know what else to say Sister: How about you don't say anything and learn how to treat your customers with some respect Employee: ... Husband: Are you a manager? Employee: I'm the owner Husband: (almost choking) THE OWNER?! Employee: Yes, I'm the owner Husband: You should probably go back to school and learn some basic customer service skills I wish I would have recorded the conversation. This script just doesn't do it justice. This guy was the most arrogant jerk. How many times did he say "I don't know what to say"? I lost track. How about I'm really sorry, I was wrong or I should have investigated on our end first or take this pizza on me this time. There wasn't anything even remotely sincere in his apology. Because this was the owner of the business, I have to give them one star, right? And because it was the owner, I cannot patron the business again, right? I have received bad service at plenty of places and haven't refused to go back because I typically assume the server was just having an off day. But, when the guy getting all the cash treats any customer like that, I just cannot give him anymore of my money....Right? I am so pissed off that he treated us that way and extra pissed because I love this place and cannot give him my business any longer. If he treats his customers that way, I cannot imagine what it must be like to work for that dude. What a jerk!

We usually meet friends here for dinner. They have really good pizza and we all know the waitstaff can be slow or forgetful. It's really a low key place so we just roll with the service. The staff has always been pleasant and always offers a smile. The crust is good with an appropriate amount of sauce and they load on the toppings.

I have been coming to Pioneer for years, great family atmosphere and the pizza is some of the best I have ever had. I'd recommend the Big Jake's named after the owner's son. And if you can can convince the owner to make his special... You are in for a treat!

Very good place ... a little out of the way but worth the effort ... super good service and very clean plus they have big screen t.v.'s and video poker and the noise level is very moderate ... the pizza was very good we had the combo ... neither of us like bell peppers they happilly left the peppers off and substituted with tomatos and it wasnt overloaded with cheese either ... great service, nice quiet dining area and great pizza ... we will be back

I give up. Every time I go to this location they a screw up the pizza. Simple request onion on half the pizza and tomato on this side. Yep you guess it onions and tomato on everything. Wait it gets better. Sons cheese pizza gets delivered overcooked with huge bubbles on half of the pizza. They bring it to the table and say it exploded and do we want it or a new one. Of course we would want a new one why bring to the table? Then they bring the next one and it is burnt all the way around the edges. Wait even better. The server/bartender has the entire side by herself. She is nice enough but never checks back leaving sodas and water empty until we are about to leave. Wait and I get to pay full price for everything. It is always like this. I try to support local but can't do it anymore. They run this location with a bunch of younger people that really don't seem to care. Just moving cattle in and out.

Extremely satisfied with pioneer pizza. Today was my first time ordering from them and my family is supper picky and we are in love. I ordered the fish and chips and couldn't believe how moist and awesome. We can't wait to go back.

Pizza is decent but customer service is lacking. This place in run by a bunch of teenagers who don't really care about the customers. Pricing is bizarre and inconsistent. The last few times I ordered a half/half 2 topping, I was charged for 4 toppings. I tried to explain to the boy on the phone that it didn't make sense to charge for 4 toppings when you are only getting half the amount of toppings on each side. He said, "That's just the way the register works". I only purchase pizza from here when I have a coupon. Otherwise, I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Our favorite family restaurant! Our family has been coming here for years and we always have a great meal. Highly recommend the taco pizza, one of my favorites and trust me I'm very picky when it comes to my pizza.

Super good pizza and breadsticks, were always happy when we come to pioneer. It's also close to home so it's our go to spot when we're craving pizza. Yes it's a little spendy. We paid $22 after a coupon for a pepperoni pizza and bread sticks but I honestly think you get what you pay for.

My husband and I are, what you would call, pizza snobs. We are very particular with the type of pizza we order. We have been looking for a great pizza place for a while. We have tried all the other pizza places in town and were extremely disappointed. From the orders being botched, to the overpriced cardboard pizza, we were getting extremely discouraged, we then stumbled upon Pioneer Pizza. The Pizza they serve there is AWESOME. The garlic cheese sticks are to die for. What I think is the most important, however, is the customer service. Everyone there is extremely friendly and now this is our new go to pizza place in Oregon City.

We were in search of a new pizza joint and saw Pioneer on our way to the driving range. Pioneers crust is nice and crisp, the sauce is light and not overloaded with herbs, and their quantity of toppings was just right. The gal who took our order was very nice and came by regularly to make sure we were doing well. Two thumbs up for the Italian Style pizza. But if you get it bring mints, it's got lots of garlic which is always a wonderful and healthy topping :)

Hands Down best pizza in OC. I have yet to dine in, but the pie my husband brought home Saturday night was worth every freaking star. The crust is perfect, crispy edged and flavorful. Good quality toppings and red sauce that actually tastes like tomatoes, garlic and spices rather than just being food lube. They offer some good coupons in the OC mailer and I'm stoked.

Perfect! Take and Bake, or have them bake it for you! My husband even brought ours home to bake, and instead threw it on the Traeger. It is by far the best pizza we have ever had as a take and bake!

Pizza was OK...not earth shattering. My overall experience however was less than stellar. Prices were OK..I'd say slightly on the high side but not exorbitant. However, when ridiculous extra charges are added in it doesn't matter how much it costs...you feel a bit taken for a ride. We ordered half one kind and half another. One side was much more expensive than the other but they still charge you for the more expensive side..that's fine. We then asked them to substitute one item for another. In this case we asked them to take a meat item off and substitute it for a fruit/vegetable. When checking out I find that in addition to being charged for the more expensive half I am also being charge an extra $2 for substitution topping. Huh? When I asked the girl why she said we charge for extra toppings. I tried to explain that this was not extra...it was a substitution but she couldn't seem to grasp the concept. Her answer was "this is what the computer says to charge you." Again..pizza was OK...not great. Extra charges like this annoy me and are why this was our first and last visit to Pioneer Pizza.

Very clean place! We have been many times as it is very close to the Redland area. The food is pretty good, salads are good, Pizza is pretty good, better than a lot of places. It does have some service issues at times, sometimes you get great service, while other times (dine in) it can be VERY hit or miss. Good beer selection for such a small place! Seems to be very consistent most of the time with the food! Good, quick easy place for a bite or a take-and-bake too!

We have been eating here since we moved here and it is good food! The pizza is good either cooked there or taken home. Punch cards are great and add up quickly because the food keeps you coming back!

You have to appreciate a clean well run business, always good food and service, the bathroom doesn't smell, I just hate dirty stinking bathrooms especially in a restaurant, some of the chain type Pizza places in OC are disgusting in this regard, when I take my family out for casual dinning we spend 25 to 30 bucks at most places so a few bucks one way or the other is not an issue, mostly it's the cleanliness, quality of the food, service and wait time, which are always good at Pioneer Pizza. We like the take and bake for parties and often meet people there to grab a bite, it's quick, pleasant and has a good location where traffic and parking is not a problem.

I love Pioneer Pizza. It's near my home so I stop here often. The pizza is great and I also love the hot wings. At my house, I can't get Comcast, so I occasionally watch Blazer games here. They have a few TV's and always show NBA, NFL and NCAA Football games, and if they don't have what you want to watch on, they'll switch one of the TV's for you!

My Family loves this place. Recently we stopped in just to have a Taco Pizza. It was delicious. We had a side of sour cream and we stuffed our faces. Wonderful pizzas and delicious sandwiches.

Middle of the road. Had worst had better. Nothing special. Service was good owner was there and didn't ask how it was. Typically of owner or managers are at a restraint they check in the customers. Bar atmosphere. Ok for kids probably not the best on a football night or even any weekend night.

We picked up our pizza's to try for the first time. The atmosphere reminding me of old school Godfather's Pizza which was pretty cool, nice and family friendly. Because we took our order to go, customer service is something I cannot really comment on but I can review the basics. We tried three staples. Pepperoni, Hawaiian, and a Calzone. I like that their crust is on the thinner side. It was not crispy, but it was not thick and gummy like so many others. They go light on the sauce which is a plus for me. It had plenty of flavor and did not gush out all over the place. The cheese was good. The toppings were evenly placed, with good quantity. I thought the Pepperoni was just okay, I would not go out of my way for it. The Calzone disappointed me. I tried it excitedly due to the fact it had ricotta in it as advertised, but I only found a small tablespoon of it in the center. The Calzone was too salty, so salty I had trouble eating it. Now the Hawaiian, that I would make a special trip for. I really liked the type of Canadian Bacon they used. It all seemed to work really well. I prefer wood fired pizza, but those are not always available in our area. I will definitely head back for the Hawaiian when the urge strikes me.
